An annual tradition makes its return to the Hilliard area as the Hilliard Community Chorus presents Handel’s Messiah for its 48th year! As a musical setting of the Christmas story, we find ourselves centering on the new life and unconditional love this season brings. Please join us in celebrating the holiday season!
The concert will be performed 3:30pm on December 17 at Hilliard Bradley Performing Arts Center, 2800 Walker Rd, Hilliard, OH and will feature the Christmas Section of The Messiah, the most famous work by George Frederick Handel, a German-British Baroque composer who worked in the 1700s and is well known for his operas, oratorios, and concertos.
The work will be performed by the Hilliard Community Chorus, a volunteer choir made up of over 80 community members united in their joy of singing and accompanied by the Greater Columbus Community Orchestra. The Chorus currently performs three times a year and is conducted by Logan W. Fletcher, a trained choral conductor and Hilliard music teacher. The Greater Columbus Community Orchestra is dedicated to the enhanced appreciation and understanding of orchestral music in Central Ohio and the surrounding communities. The orchestra performs several concerts throughout the year which are all free to attend. The concert will open witha short program of holiday music by the Hilliard Youth Chorus, directed by Meredith Kennedy.
Admission is complimentary but a free will offering benefitting the Hilliard Arts Council will be received
