Swing’s the Thing is a 16-piece big band based in Central Ohio. Playing hits from a variety of new artists as well as paying tribute to legends such as Count Basie and Woody Herman who helped shape what their sound is today. Covering a wide range of dance styles including swing, rock, ballad, blues, cha-cha, rumba, mambo, samba, waltz, disco, foxtrot, and polka. This night is the perfect opportunity to bring out your dancing shoes!
The band’s brilliant sound is a combination of a variety of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. Sunday, August 1, at 7 pm they will be performing at our outdoor stage at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center.
These free concerts are made possible in part due to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Hilliard, Coffee Connections, and the Ohio Arts Council. Don’t forget that the Hilliard DORA is in effect, so feel free to bring food and adult beverages from participating Hilliard bars and restaurants.
