1776 will be staged starting this weekend, April 22-24 and 29-May 1. This Tony award-winning musical describes the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress of the newly formed United States of America. In this blog post, our Artistic Director (who also happens to be directing the show) provides some insight on why she programmed this particular work as well as her insights on its content such as how much liberty can be taken with facts to tell a good story.
