2026 Hilliard Short Film Festival

The Hilliard Short Film Festival, presented by the Hilliard Arts Council, is a vibrant celebration of short films and animations created by filmmakers from central Ohio and beyond. Designed to uplift local talent and champion diverse storytelling, the festival brings together emerging voices, seasoned creators, and film‑loving audiences for a day dedicated to creativity and community.

This year marks an exciting milestone with the introduction of our first‑ever Animation category, expanding the festival’s reach and offering animators a dedicated space to showcase their craft. Alongside Animation, filmmakers may submit to the Adult (18+) and Student/Under‑18 divisions, ensuring opportunities for artists at every stage of their journey. Attendees will also help determine the People’s Choice Award through live audience voting during the screenings.

All submitted films must meet widely accepted film‑rating standards and fall at or below a PG‑13 equivalent. Projects may be in any genre and must run 12 minutes or less, including credits. Films containing excessive violence, adult language, or nudity will be disqualified. All selections are made at the discretion of the appointed judges.

The 2026 festival will take place on June 20, 2026 at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center 5235 Center Street, Hilliard, OH 43026.
